About

Born in Southeast Louisiana, just a few minutes north of the city of New Orleans, I grew up with a love for the food and culture I was raised in. I’ve loved to cook since I was a young teenager, always watching my mom bustle around her tiny kitchen creating the staples we grew up with that fed our bellies and our souls. She is and will always be my inspiration. To this day, she helps me collect various cook books from our southern roots.
We spent over a decade in Tennessee after job displacement after Hurricane Katrina. Even while living 500 miles away from the Gulf and all that we knew, my mom still found a way to bring Louisiana to our dinner table. In 2018 my parents decided returned to our home town and I followed, a 25 year old looking for a career change after working in the service industry in Nashville for near a decade. Within the first two months of moving back to Louisiana, I met my now husband.
A food lover and fellow Louisiana native, he has always been my number one fan. Every dinner and trial recipe has been met with love, support and (rarely) constructive criticism. He’s my best friend and is always up for my experiments in the kitchen.
We married in October of 2021 and found out we were expecting our beautiful daughter in early 2024. During my pregnancy, my husband encouraged me to start sharing my recipes online. I started with a few videos here and there, but after the arrival of our daughter, I quickly became immersed into motherhood.
After realizing I wanted to be a SAHM and give up my corporate job, I dove back into posting my recipes online in hopes of making it into a business that could afford me that luxury. As always, my husband was fully supportive.
While there is still much to do as far as making this into a business, I enjoy every day cooking and spending time with our daughter.
I hope you enjoy following along in my journey!
